The goals for the Inclusiveness Initiative Certificate involve TCU students becoming more culturally aware of others who may be different from themselves. Cultural Awareness is the foundation of communication, it involves the ability of standing back from ourselves and not only becoming aware of our own cultural values, beliefs, and perceptions, but also becoming aware of others’ cultural values, believes and perceptions.

Upon completion of the Inclusiveness Initiative Certificate students will be able to do the following:

  1. Knowledge & Insight: Demonstrate their knowledge of, and provide insight into, issues including but not limited to, race, ethnicity, gender, disability status, sexual orientation, socio-economic status, veteran status, gender identity and sexual orientation.
  2. Experience & Utilization: Articulate how they experienced various diversity events and used those experiences and knowledge in every day practices.
  3. Community Interaction: Demonstrate how they have participated and interacted with a university-approved cultural organization and community service project.
